This is literally happening once in a BLUE MOON that 2020’s Halloween will be coinciding with the Blue Moon on the night of 31st October. The Blue Moon on October 31st will be the first full moon on Halloween in 76 years; it happened back in 1944.

According to NASA, we will get to witness the next Halloween Blue Moon in the year 2039.

When we get to see two full moons in a calendar month, the second full moon is called the Blue Moon. The blue in the ‘blue moon’ has nothing to do with its color. It is an uncommon phenomenon involving the appearance of an additional full moon within a given period of time.

It is noteworthy that the first full moon which was observed earlier this month was known as the ‘Harvest Moon’. The story behind the Harvest Moon is that in earlier times, it helped farmers to harvest their summer farming produce beyond midnight.

This year has proved to be a very special year for night sky-watchers. In 2020, 13 full moons including four lunar eclipses, three super moons, and even a Blue Moon were observed.
