Due to very less rainfall in September and October being mostly dry, the mercury in Uttarakhand has dipped considerably since the beginning of November. This sudden drop in temperature has broken the record of the last three years. After Diwali, the temperature will dip during the second fortnight and fog will also be twice as dense as last year.
According to the experts from the Metrological Department, only 14 mm of rain fell in September, as compared to the forecast which was 200 mm of rain. 50 mm of rain was expected in October as well, but the month passed dry. This will cause dry cold in November and drizzle may occur after 22nd of November.
