To be organized every year on Basant Panchmi
The Tehri Lake Festival 2021 was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat at Koti Colony, Tehri, on Tuesday. The event was commemorated with the welcoming and seeking blessings of the Dev Doli.
Addressing the public at the festival, CM Rawat, said, “Tehri Lake Festival is being organized to promote tourism activities and mark the presence of Uttarakhand at the international level.”
Congratulating the attendees on the occasion of Basant Panchmi, the Chief Minister also announced that from now onwards, the Tehri Lake Festival will be organized every year on the day of Basant Panchami. He further said that due to the recent disaster in Chamoli, there was confusion about whether the festival should be organized this year or not, but was eventually organized along with fighting the disaster. He paid his respectful condolences to the people who lost their lives in the Chamoli disaster.
Various adventure sports and activities, such as paragliding, paramotor, parasailing boat, scuba diving, hot air balloon, kayaking, canoeing, high course, rock climbing, gumming rappelling, and terrain biking, are being organized at Tehri Lake Festival 2021.
On this occasion, Minister of State, Independent Charge Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Dhan Singh Negi, District Panchayat President Sona Sajwan, Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar, Additional Secretary Adventure Wing Colonel Ashwin Pundir, District Magistrate Tehri Eva Ashish Shrivastava, Additional Director Tourism Poonam Chand, and other officials were also present during the event.
