In a significant move aimed at enhancing the quality of education and reducing student stress, the Uttarakhand School Education Department will introduce a teaching-sharing system and implement a Bag-Free Day once a month. The new initiatives were discussed in a meeting chaired by Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, held at the Sarva Shiksha Auditorium in Nanurkheda.

Teaching Sharing System

Under the National Education Policy 2020, a teaching-sharing system will be implemented to facilitate resource-sharing among schools. This system will allow teachers from CBSE and government schools to receive free training and utilize laboratories and other educational resources. Minister Rawat announced that contracts with various education boards would soon be signed to formalize this initiative.

In the initial phase, the program will develop groups of nearby schools at the district and block levels, eventually expanding to all schools across the state. This initiative aims to improve educational activities and promote the all-round development of students.

Bag-Free Day

To reduce the physical and mental burden on students, a Bag-Free Day will be observed in all schools once a month. On this designated day, students will engage in debates, sports, and cultural programs instead of regular classes. This initiative is expected to provide a stress-free environment and foster holistic development.

During the meeting, various education board officials collaborated with the Education Department to outline these plans. Prominent attendees included Director General of School Education Banshidhar Tiwari, SCERT Director Bandana Garbyal, Director of Secondary Education Mahavir Singh Bisht, and Director of Primary Education Ramkrishna Uniyal.

Minister Rawat emphasized the importance of these reforms, stating, “These initiatives will not only enhance the quality of education but also ensure the overall well-being of our students. By reducing the burden of school bags and providing free training to teachers, we are taking significant steps towards a brighter future for our children.”

The meeting concluded with a commitment to swiftly implement these changes, aiming to create a more supportive and enriching educational environment for students in Uttarakhand.
