Newly elected Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Tirath Singh Rawat on Monday informed that the state government has decided to withdraw cases filed against more than 4,500 people engaged in food distribution or other help-related activities in connection to the violation of COVID-19 rules during the lockdown.

In another development, the CM also stated that the COVID-19 report is not mandatory to take part in the following shahi snans during the Kumbh Mela.

The Kumbh Mela 2021 will be organized from April 1 to April 30 in Haridwar. The government of Uttarakhand has shortened this year’s Kumbh to 30 days because of the coronavirus pandemic.
