In a latest development, the Uttarakhand government will provide COVID-19 vaccination free of cost to everyone above 18 years of age. The free vaccination drive will be carried out in both government and private hospitals, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat said on Friday.
From May 1, the vaccination drive will start for all people in the age group of 18 to 45. The Uttarakhand Chief Minister said on Friday that the COVID vaccine will be given free of cost to all and that Private hospitals will also be talked about for this. The government’s priority is to get everyone out of the coronavirus pandemic.
This will benefit about 50 lakh people of the state. It will cost 400 crores, which will be borne by the state government. The Chief Minister also informed that in areas where there was a shortage of doctors, 345 new doctors have been appointed, who will also be on COVID duty. He further said that the black marketing of medicines will not be tolerated under any circumstances and that strict action will be taken against those not following the same.
