COVID in Uttarakhand: 8517 new cases, 151 casualties in 24 hours; active cases cross 62,000

Uttarakhand on Thursday witnessed a record-breaking surge of COVID-19 cases, with 8517 new cases and 151 deaths recorded within 24 hours. Moreover, the total number of active cases has peaked at 62911.

As of today, 4548 patients have recovered from the virus. So far, 2,20,351 coronavirus infections have been recorded in the state, out of which 1,49,489 patients have achieved recovery. At the same time, 3293 patients have succumbed to the deadly disease to date. Furthermore, the number of containment zones in the state stands at 342.

Dehradun also saw record-breaking COVID-19 positive cases today. According to the Health Department’s report, 33097 samples were taken on Thursday, out of which 27218 samples tested negative. The number of positive cases in the city stands at 3123, which is the maximum to date.
