Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rainfall at several places in Uttarakhand till September 6. According to the forecast, moderate to heavy rain may occur at isolated places in the hill districts of the state on Friday.
There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall with lightning and thunder at some places in Bageshwar, Champawat, Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri, Pithoragarh, and Tehri on Saturday and Sunday.
Along with the alert for heavy rainfall, there is a possibility of landslides, rock slides, roads obstruction due to debris, overflow in rivers & streams, and waterlogging in the low-lying areas of the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, after September 6, the rains might increase further.
