National Winter Games to commence on February 7 in Auli

To promote adventure sports in Uttarakhand, the state Tourism Department organizes National Winter Games every year at Auli in the Chamoli district. This year, the three-day-long National Winter Games will commence on February 7.

The State Tourism Department did not host the National Winter Games since 2019 due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation. Seeing the declining coronavirus cases, the authorities are all set to organize Winter Games this year, thus boosting tourism in the state.

Being organized in association with the Tourism Department and Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN), District Administration Chamoli, ITBP, Skiing & Snow Board Association of Uttarakhand, the National Winter Games will witness participation from over 200 adventure buffs from 16 teams from different states including Uttarakhand, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

The National Winter Games hosted in Auli are certified by the Federation of International Skiing.

This destination has been attracting tourists and adventure sports enthusiasts for a long time. Apart from skiing, tourists can also see mountain ranges like Nanda Devi, Mana, and Kamat here.
