The Bharatiya Janata Party has once again shown confidence in Pushkar Singh Dhami and decided to hand over the command of Uttarakhand to him. This makes Dhami the 12th Chief Minister of the state.
After the assembly election results on March 10, BJP managed to secure a majority in Uttarakhand, but Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had to face a crushing defeat from the Khatima assembly seat. He was defeated by Bhuwan Chandra Kapri of Congress by more than 6000 votes.
It is happening for the first time in the history of Uttarakhand that any party will be forming the government for the second time in a row.
