Uttarakhand recorded five new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the state’s total tally to ten. Among the newly confirmed cases are two doctors from AIIMS Rishikesh, raising concerns about the exposure of healthcare workers on the frontlines.

According to state health officials, six of the ten patients are currently active Covid cases. One patient has been admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, while the remaining five are under home isolation.

Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar stated that 19 samples underwent RT-PCR testing on Wednesday, out of which five tested positive for the virus. Of these, two are residents of Uttarakhand, while the other three had recently traveled back from Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Bijnor.

In light of the rising cases, all medical units across the state have been placed on high alert. Dr. Kumar emphasized that preparations to tackle Covid-19 are being intensified and urged the public to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines.

Health authorities are appealing to citizens to exercise caution, especially after the detection of infections among medical staff. The state government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring adequate healthcare measures and preventing further spread of the virus.
