Uttarakhand has reported four new cases of COVID-19, with two each from Dehradun and Uttarkashi districts. According to State Nodal Officer Dr. Pankaj Singh, while the situation remains under control, the health department has been instructed to strengthen monitoring and increase vigilance across the state.
With these additions, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has reached 83, including 13 cases reported among migrants from other states. The number of active cases currently stands at eight.
In a parallel health concern, three new cases of dengue have also emerged in the district. The patients have been admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and Graphic Era Hospital. With these new infections, the total dengue count in the district has climbed to 141.
Health department teams have detected dengue larvae in 74 houses during ongoing larval surveys. In response, the municipal corporation and health authorities have accelerated fogging and larvicide spraying activities in the affected areas.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma stated that all healthcare units in the district have been put on high alert. Regular inspections, fogging operations, and chemical spraying are being conducted to curb the spread of dengue effectively.
