Several parts of Uttarakhand remain on high alert as the state continues to witness intense monsoon activity. The Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in the districts of Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Tehri, and Bageshwar. A yellow alert has also been issued for other districts, warning of moderate to heavy rain in the coming days, especially until July 12.

In response to the rainfall warning and landslide threats, the Chief Education Officer has declared a holiday for all government and semi-government schools in Chamoli district. The District Magistrate of Chamoli, Sandeep Tiwari, also confirmed that power supply in the Jyotirmath region has been disrupted due to a fault in the 66 kV transmission line of PTCUL.

Meanwhile, the rain-triggered landslides have severely impacted road connectivity in the hill state. According to the State Emergency Operation Centre, two national highways and at least 50 roads have been shut due to debris and landslides. In Dehradun district, traffic has come to a halt on the Vikasnagar-Kalsi-Barkot National Highway near Lakhwar Bend (km 26), along with three rural roads.

In Uttarkashi, the Rishikesh-Yamunotri National Highway remains blocked at Aujari. The district also reports closures of one state highway and 11 rural roads. In Chamoli, 13 rural routes are inaccessible, while seven are shut in Pithoragarh, four in Bageshwar, three in Pauri, and two in Tehri. In Nainital, the Kathgodam-Haidakhan state highway is closed due to landslides.

The disruption has posed significant difficulties for both local residents and Char Dham pilgrims. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have urged people to avoid unnecessary travel to vulnerable areas during this period of intense rainfall.
