DIG Arun Mohan Joshi has issued instructions to all the police in-charge after the Chief Secretary had issued orders to set a time period of two hours for the bursting of firecrackers. The police will file a case against those who burst firecrackers outside the stipulated time period, as well as will make the public aware of the use of green crackers using loudspeakers.
DIG Arun Mohan Joshi informed that the Chief Secretary Om Prakash has given instructions restricting the excessive burning of firecrackers by setting a time limit. In the same sequence, on Wednesday, a letter has been issued to all the 21 police stations in the district and to the Kotwali in-charge as well.
The DIG has also canceled the festive holidays of all police personnel. He has directed the station in-charge to ensure compliance with the guidelines issued by the government regarding fireworks, ensuring the sale of green crackers in their area. On the day of Diwali, Gurpurab, and Chhath Puja, all the police station heads will be monitoring various areas in the city and using loudspeakers, will appeal to the public not to burst firecrackers.
All activities will be monitored via CCTV cameras through the control room. The intelligence department has been alerted as well. Policemen will be patrolling in their respective areas and will record videos of fireworks bursting after 10 PM.
