Doon Hospital ward boy creates history, becomes first in Uttarakhand to get coronavirus vaccine

A vaccination campaign to fight against the novel coronavirus kicked off in Uttarakhand today. Doon Hospital ward boy Shailendra Dwivedi created history by becoming the first in the state to receive the vaccination.

Coronavirus vaccination commenced after the arrival of Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat at the Government Doon Medical College. Ward boy Shailendra Dwivedi after receiving the Covishield vaccine was kept under observation for half an hour. During his address, CM Rawat commended the efforts of the doctors and the entire medical staff.

According to the set target, 100 health workers will be vaccinated at 34 vaccination booths in the state on the first day of the campaign.

Coronavirus vaccinations will be administered at four health centers in Uttarakhand, viz. Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar.
