To be organized with simplicity in the wake of Chamoli disaster
The activity schedule of the upcoming Tehri Lake Festival 2021 was revised in the wake of the Chamoli disaster yesterday. As per the new schedule, there will be no cultural events during the program, which were earlier lined-up for 16th and 17th February.

An emergency meeting regarding the lake festival was held on Saturday evening between Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, Tehri’s in-charge minister Dhan Singh Rawat, and Tehri MLA Dhan Singh Negi. It was decided in the meeting that in the light of the recent glacier burst disaster, no cultural programs, including the live concert by Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal, will be organized at the lake festival. Moreover, apart from Dev Doli Darshan, a Bhajan Sandhya will also be organized in memory of the lives lost in the Chamoli disaster.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will inaugurate the Tehri Lake Festival on February 16. Soldiers of the Army, ITBP, and paramilitary forces will perform adventure activities at the lake festival. Besides, several other activities, including a photography competition, are lined up for the two-day-long festival.

It is noteworthy that the Uttarakhand government has already declared the Tehri Lake Festival as a state fair to be held every year on the occasion of Basant Panchami.
