Smart Dehradun – Electric buses to ply on ISBT-Rajpur route from today

Starting from today, Doonites can avail themselves the privilege of traveling on the smart electric buses in the city. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat flagged off the smart electric buses from Dilaram Chowk on Sunday morning under the Doon Connect scheme. He during the occasion stated that this initiative will prove to be very beneficial in terms of environmental protection.

On the first day, three electric buses were operated on the Rajpur Road route, whereas two electric buses were operated on the ISBT route.

The District Magistrate and CEO of Dehradun Smart City Limited, Dr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava informed that the first smart electric bus will ply on the ISBT-Rajpur route, under the Smart City project. The DM also notified that as soon as other electric buses will arrive, they will start operating on other routes as well.

Talking about the commuting cost, the minimum and maximum fares of these smart electric buses have been fixed at Rs. 10 and Rs. 55, respectively.

Present on the occasion were Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, MLA Vinod Chamoli, MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, MLA Khajan Dass, District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava, among others.
