Helicopter services to Kedarnath Dham are in full swing with eight aviation companies operating flights from nine helipads across the region. As per the latest update, all helicopter ticket slots for the month of May are fully booked. Bookings for June will open on May 7 exclusively through the official IRCTC website.
Authorities have urged pilgrims to ensure that helicopter tickets are booked only through the official website – https://www.heliyatra.irctc.co.in. Pilgrims are advised to avoid any third-party websites, social media links, or messages, which may lead to cyber fraud.
As in previous years, this season too, multiple helicopter operators are ferrying pilgrims to the holy shrine. These include Aryan Aviation and Trans Bharat from Guptkashi; Pawan Hans Helicopters, Global Vectra, Thumby Aviation, and Trans Bharat from Phata; and Crestal Aviation, Himalayan Heli, and Aero Aviation from Sersi. These companies operate flights on a daily rotational basis.
Due to the rising number of online scams related to fake ticket bookings, the police have been actively spreading awareness among pilgrims. SP Akshay Prahlad Konde reiterated that IRCTC’s heliyatra portal is the only authorized platform for booking helicopter tickets to Kedarnath.
For those unable to secure helicopter tickets, alternative travel options like trekking, horse rides, palanquins, and dandi-kandi are available to reach the shrine.
