The Central Government has launched the ‘Saathi’ mobile app to assist in furthering the tourism business. This app has also listed 320 hotels in Uttarakhand. This app will not only provide relief to the stakeholders related to the tourism industry but will also prove to be a great facility for tourists.
Under the Saathi app, hotels, restaurants, and homestays will be registered. This app is divided into three stages including self-certification ensuring proper adaption of COVID guidelines, capacity building to help build the capacity of hotels, restaurants, and other tourism-related centers, and providing accurate information on such aforementioned tourism centers to the tourists.
The Saathi app will help boost the hotel industry, which has been facing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative of the central government comes in accordance with PM Narendra Modi’s Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan. To make it possible to reach a large number of people, the Saathi app can be associated with other existing travel apps such as Make My Trip and Goibibo.
