Covid vaccination of people between the age group of 18 to 45 will not commence in Uttarakhand from May 1. The demand for the vaccine was sent to the Center by the state government, but the vaccine consignment has not been received yet. The vaccination campaign will only be started after getting the vaccine. The Health Department has estimated it to take a week to start vaccinating people between the age group of 18 to 45.
In a press briefing at the media centre, Health Secretary Amit Negi informed that 1,22,108 doses of Covishield from Serum Institute, Pune and 42,370 doses of Covaxin from Bharat Bio-Tech will be provided for the vaccination of people aged between 18 to 45. The demand for this has already been sent to the centre. The vaccination of people between the age group of 18 to 45 will be started only after getting the vaccine. Vaccine companies are constantly being contacted for the same. He further said that it may take a week to get the vaccine consignment.
