Uttarakhand is expected to witness a change in weather conditions from today due to a fresh Western Disturbance. An orange alert has been issued by the Meteorological Center for heavy rain, thunder, and lightning, with the possibility of hailstorms in many areas of the state. Additionally, light rain and snowfall are expected in mountainous areas.
Bikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Centre, has stated that this weather pattern may continue for the next three days. While mild cold persists in the morning and evening, temperatures have been increasing in the plains, leading to warm summer-like afternoons.
On Friday, heavy snowfall and rain are predicted in the higher regions of Bageshwar, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh. In Dehradun, Nainital, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, and Pauri, there is a warning of heavy rain at some places with gusty winds.
