The Uttarakhand government aims to boost startups with incubation centers in all districts and the establishment of a world-class Innovation Hub in Dehradun.

In a significant move to strengthen the startup ecosystem, the Uttarakhand government has announced that incubation centers will be set up in every district over the next five years. Along with this, a ₹200 crore Uttarakhand Venture Fund has been launched to provide financial support to budding entrepreneurs and emerging startups in the state.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared these developments during the Startup Samvaad event held on Sunday at the Mukhyasevak Sadan under the Mukhyasevak Samvaad initiative. Addressing the gathering of young entrepreneurs and students, the Chief Minister called upon the youth to come forward and contribute to the state’s economic growth by launching their own ventures.

“Our goal is to establish incubation centers in each district and nurture at least 1,000 startups over the next five years,” said CM Dhami. He emphasized that today’s youth should aspire to become job creators rather than job seekers, and highlighted the new entrepreneurial culture emerging across the nation.

The Chief Minister further informed that a world-class Uttarakhand Innovation Hub is being set up at the IT Park in Dehradun at a cost of ₹60 crore. This hub will act as the nodal center for all incubation activities and provide startups with the necessary resources, expert mentorship, and networking opportunities.

Incubation centers play a crucial role in supporting early-stage businesses by offering office spaces, advisory services, funding opportunities, and access to a professional network. Recognizing this, the state government is working to integrate incubation centers with educational institutions to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students.

CM Dhami also noted that entrepreneurship-related courses have been introduced in universities and colleges across the state to prepare a future-ready workforce. Additionally, a dedicated startup portal has been launched to streamline support services and offer comprehensive information to emerging entrepreneurs.

Highlighting the success of government efforts so far, the Chief Minister mentioned that over 1,300 startups from Uttarakhand have already received recognition from the Government of India. “Through the establishment of Centers of Excellence and consistent support, we are ensuring the holistic growth of the startup ecosystem in the state,” he added.

The government is committed to providing startups with financial assistance, technical guidance, and robust infrastructure support. These initiatives are expected to not only foster innovation and self-employment but also contribute significantly to Uttarakhand’s economic and industrial development.
