The Valley of Flowers, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Uttarakhand, welcomes thousands of visitors every year. As per tradition, the valley opened its gates on June 1 and will remain accessible to tourists until October 31, when it closes for the winter season.
On the opening day, 45 offline and four online registrations were recorded, marking the official start of the tourist season. According to Forest Officer Chetna Kandpal, all preparations were completed before the opening, including the repair of paths damaged by snow and the construction of temporary bridges over the local streams.
With the snow now melting, the valley is beginning to bloom, drawing nature lovers and tourists from across India and abroad. The peak season, from July to August, sees over 350 species of flowers in full bloom, while the entire season showcases more than 500 flower species.
This year, in addition to offline registration, an online booking facility has been introduced to make visiting the valley more convenient for tourists.
