As President Droupadi Murmu arrives in Dehradun for her three-day tour, the city’s traffic police have implemented a detailed route diversion plan from Thursday to Saturday to manage the expected traffic flow and maintain high-level security.
Thursday (2:30 PM to 5:30 PM):
- For vehicles from Rishikesh to Dehradun: Rerouted via Rani Pokhri–Bhogpur–Thano–Number 6 Pulia–Sahastradhara Crossing–Survey Chowk.
- For Rishikesh to Mussoorie traffic: Diverted through Thano–Sahastradhara–IT Park–Sai Mandir.
- Vehicles from Haridwar to Dehradun: Sent via Bhaniyawala Flyover–Doiwala Chowk–Dudhli Road–Kargi Chowk.
- Haridwar to Mussoorie traffic: Redirected through ISBT–Shimla Bypass–GMS Road–Cantonment–Anarwala.
- Asharodi/Premnagar to Mussoorie: Rerouted via ISBT–GMS Road–Ballupur–Cantonment–Anarwala.
- From Dehradun to Haridwar/Rishikesh: Sent via Kargi Chowk–Dudhli Road–Bhaniyawala–Laltappad–Nepali Farm.
- Mussoorie to Haridwar/Rishikesh: Rerouted via Old Mussoorie Road–Sai Mandir–IT Park–Sahastradhara–Thano Road.
Diversion Points (Thursday): Bhogpur Tiraaha (Rani Pokhri), Bhaniyawala Flyover, Doiwala (100m ahead), Kargi Chowk, Shimla Bypass Chowk, Annexe Tiraaha, Sahastradhara Crossing, Sai Mandir (Rajpur Road).
Friday (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM):
- EC Road to Mussoorie: Via Survey Chowk–Sahastradhara–IT Park–Sai Mandir.
- Clock Tower to Mussoorie: Through Great Value–Canal Road–Kath Bangla–Sai Mandir.
- Hathibarkala/Dilaram to Mussoorie: Via Canal Road and Sai Mandir.
- Mussoorie to Dehradun: Through Old Mussoorie Road–Sai Mandir–IT Park–Sahastradhara Crossing.
Diversion Points (Friday): Dilaram Chowk, Great Value Tiraaha, Sai Mandir, Kuthal Gate.
Saturday (8:00 AM to 1:00 PM):
Traffic will follow the same rerouting as Thursday, with adjustments in timings to accommodate the President’s schedule and public programs.
Diversion Points (Saturday): Same as Thursday: Bhogpur Tiraaha, Bhaniyawala Flyover, Doiwala (100m ahead), Kargi Chowk, Shimla Bypass, Annexe Tiraaha, Sahastradhara Crossing, Sai Mandir.
Security Measures: SSP Ajay Singh stated that extensive police deployment has been arranged along all diversion points to guide commuters and ensure minimal inconvenience. Search operations were carried out in hotels, banks, and forested areas near the airport. Police have appealed to the public for cooperation during the high-security visit.
The three-day visit of President Murmu includes multiple engagements, including the inauguration of the Rashtrapati Ashiana, which will be opened to the public for the first time.
